Washington Post: Benoit & Sergio Are Burning Up The Dance Floor

Memories can smudge easily in the tiny hours, but it’ll be hard for Benoit & Sergio to forget the secret warehouse rave they headlined in Los Angeles a few weeks back. The Washington-born pop duo had the dance floor on fire. This year has been an insane-weekend domino chain for Benoit & Sergio. They have been discreetly making some of the finest left-field pop music to ever come out of the District — incredibly clever, impossibly cool dance tracks that have generated big excitement in micro-pockets of the Internet (which is how all promising musical careers start these days). After clocking about 60 dates at sweaty nightspots around the globe, the twosome are beginning to wrap up their 2011. To read more, click here.

Time Out Chicago: Take a Visionquest with Fabric 61

Time Out Chicago took some time to review the new fabric 61, mixed by the one and only Visionquest. The guys -Ryan Crosson, Lee Curtiss, Shaun Reeves and Seth Troxler - had warming atmospherics and the mantra "just relax man" set the mood as the massage of the tide on STL's "Portside Waves" to open the mix while also mixing in machine-driven textures, cosmic flourishes and literal space references that surface on Soul Center's "HAL 2010," Seuil's "In the Moon" and Green Velvet's "Abduction." But they also used it as a time to show off the Visionquest label with tracks from My Favorite Robot, Footprintz and Tales of Us. To read the full review, click here.

Timeout New York: Apollo Heights - “Sad Cabaret”/“Reverie”

“Sad Cabaret,” with its beatific, falsetto vocals, loping rhythm and diaphanous guitar work, is a good introduction to the combo’s sound—but it’s not exactly club material, so into the fray steps Phil Mison, the longtime proponent of Balearic beats. Mison—best known to modern-day clubbers through his productions with Pete Herbert as Reverso 68, along with solo work under the Cantoma name—remodels the tune into a hypnotic disco chugger, a blissfully dubby version that drops much of the six-sting filigree in favor of mood-altering effects. Fader: Download "Don't Break My Love" by Nicolas Jaar

Fader has given you the opportunity to download the track, along with "Why Didn't You Save Me". To download both tracks, click here.

NPR: Nicolas Jaar Sound Takes Shape

Electronic alchemist Nicolas Jaar's debut album, Space Is Only Noise, is a pleasingly noxious concoction that's difficult to pigeonhole into one genre or another. A Jaar EP that follows, Don't Break My Love, is similarly unpredictable and refreshing. To read the full article, click here.

Kaskade may be one of the leading DJs in dance music today – but he wants to be even bigger. Pitchfork: Nicolas Jaar "Dont Break My Love" Preview

Downtempo minimalist Nicolas Jaar hasn't released much since February's still-terrific Space Is Only Noise. This-- the A-side to a single forthcoming on Clown & Sunset, his own label-- is, for the most part, a continuation of the style he explored there: Purring, spectral music with shades of R&B and an exquisite attention to detail.
