RELEASE: Nick Curly North American Tour

NICK CURLY ANNOUNCES FIVE DATE NORTH AMERICAN TOUR JANUARY 2011
One of the most in-demand producers and DJs of the moment, Nick Curly, is heading to America in January 2011 for five DJ dates. Curly’s US tour comes on the back of two incredibly busy and exciting years that have made him one of the most talked about artists to arrive on to the underground scene, and preceding three new releases and remixes for Cocoon, Cecille and Soma.

This past summer Nick Curly’s career moved to the next level when he was handed a DJ residency at the world famous clubbing mecca, Space Ibiza. He provided one of the mixes in the latest installment of the iconic ‘Cocoon Ibiza Summer’ compilation series, alongside Marco Carola, and was given the reigns to the legendary BBC Essential Mix by Pete Tong in July.

As a label boss and definitive tastemaker, Curly has seen his own Cecille and Cecille Numbers imprints blossom, helping launch the careers of acts such as Markus Fix, SIS, Robert Dietz and Alex Celler. His own recent work on his third label 8 Bit with Gorge has seen Curly running three of the top 20 charted labels on Resident Advisor.

Curly started producing records in 2005, and was at the time only a well known name in Germany’s Rhein-Main area. His early releases on murmur, Supernature, 8 bit and Plastic City lit the fuse in the mid 00’s, before subsequent tracks like ‘Pujante’ (Cocoon), and the Cecille releases ‘Stuntman’ and ‘Dubnoise’ saw Nick explode out of the domestic German scene and onto the worldwide stage for the first time. Since then, his productions have gone on to grace heavyweight labels like Get Physical, Liebe*Detail, Mobilee and Saved.

Curly will be bringing his captivating talents behind the decks to some of America’s best parties and venues this winter including Smart Bar in Chicago, NYC’s Basic party series and Miami’s Space.

RELEASE: air london Showcase @ BPM Festival

air london Showcase at BPM Festival with Nick Curly & Simon Baker

The beautiful, idyllic city of Playa Del Carmen, Mexico will welcome the BPM Festival for the 4th consecutive year this December 31st to January 9th, 2011, and air London will be hosting a nighttime showcase on January 5th featuring Cecille label boss Nick Curly and British tech-house specialist Simon Baker.

The BPM Festival was originally established under the framework of a networking conference, with DJs, artists, and other industry heads coming together in picturesque Southeastern Mexico. Now, after three years of building credibility, the festival has evolved into a melting pot of international artists, industry folk, dance music aficionados, and New Year’s party enthusiasts. Each entity of the festival now converges to form 10 days of conviviality with parties and showcases occurring continuously throughout the day and nighttime.

As an event that was conceived around the idea of a festival for DJs put on by DJs, the talent curation has always been second to none. In the past 3 years, Playa Del Carmen and the BPM Festival have been home to performances by the world’s best, including Steve Lawler, Dubfire, Steve Angello, Guy Gerber, and more. BPM has outdone itself once again this year, featuring an all-star lineup of talent including Richie Hawtin, Steve Angello, Laidback Luke and Loco Dice. Only three labels were invited to host showcases this year--Kompakt, Crosstown Rebels and air london.

As an agency, air london represents a wide range of international artists and DJs, and their ever-growing roster boasts some of the most exciting electronic acts from around the world. Names include showcase headliners Nick Curly and Simon Baker, as well as Glimpse, Geddes, and Alex Celler to name a few. Additionally, the agency is the rep for multiple international imprints including 2020 Vision, Cecille, and 8 Bit. In 2010, air london debuted its own label, which to date has released tracks from Burnski, Simon Baker, Nick Curly, and more.

The past year has been excitingly busy for air london’s Nick Curly. His consistent production and top DJ technique earned him a lauded residency at the legendary nightclub, Space Ibiza, last summer. He was also invited to give the world 2 hours of music on Pete Tong’s world famous Essential Mix on BBC’s Radio 1 in July. Nick’s experience mastering the Mannheim house sound has made him one of the most innovative and sought after DJs in the circuit today.

Simon Baker has inarguably solidified his position as one of the United Kingdom’s best tech-house producers to date. With over 18 years of DJ experience and releases on multiple labels including VIVa, Get Physical, and Cocoon, it is no wonder that Simon is in demand at clubs and festivals all over the world. His anticipated debut artist album is also set for release on 2020 Vision in the New Year.

Expect that the performances of these two high-caliber artists at this BPM Festival in paradise will foreshadow the bright 2011 that air London has ahead of it.
